Roberto Pirelli is based in Hong Kong with several years of experience in the TVs, production and post-production companies, with a huge passion for nature, travel and exploration.
He started his career in 1997 in Rome filming and editing news programs in linear editing system.
Between 2003 and 2007 he travelled over Europe shooting TV documentaries in Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Germany, France, Austria. He is experienced in using multiple broadcast formats and in different types of situations from speed boats, cars, motorcycles, high montains and desert.
He shot several entertainment and sports programs for TV channels like MEDIASET, RAI and fashion programs for SKY.
He also worked for TecnoConference-Europe, shooting interviews and conference within the members of the Italian parliament.
In 2010 Roberto moved to London. In 2013 he shot the expedition "Revival Trophy Patagonia 2013”, a month-long expedition with 6 Land Rover driving through South America on the famous "Ruta 40”
In 2015 he's inside the team of the expedition "The Karst" caving end exploring the underground rivers of Guangxi Province, China. This documentary was produced for TVB.
In June 2016 he followed an international volunteer team from UK, USA, HK, Malaysia in the "Yulin Dog Meat Festival" rescuing around 1000 dogs from the slaughterhouses in the South-West China. For an ongoing documentary.
In February 2017 he shot the expedition OCEAN ROWING 2017 for LI KA SHIN FOUNDATION. 9 days in the ocean following two teams rowing from Shantou to HK. First ocean rowing event in Asia.
In June 2017 he directed the first underwater 3D VR360° microfilm in HK for promoting the 1st. VR STORYTELLING COMPETITION hosted by HONG KONG CPPCC YOUTH ASSOCIATION for the HONG KONG SAR'S 20th ANNIVERSARY with Mr. Alex Fong.
